Meet the Engineers

Roger Smith has been a Civil Engineer with Pinnacle Engineers, Inc. since August 1995.

As a Project Civil Engineer he has been responsible for designing and managing a diverse array of projects throughout Idaho as well as limited projects in several other states. Generally focusing upon civil site work, he has designed and coordinated subdivisions, commercial and institutional sites, and hillside development projects. Most large site projects have required all aspects of civil engineering, including complete survey services, utility main extensions, drainage and grading plans, and flood plain, riverside, and hillside development issues. Roger's recent projects include Ladera Winery (Napa, CA), University of Idaho Living/Learning Community (Moscow, ID), and Vista Comfort Suites (Boise, ID.) Past larger-scale projects include Roaring Springs Water Park, Eagle Professional Plaza, and Parkway Plaza in Meridian, ID as well as Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, The Cornerstone at Forest River, and Federal Way Commerce Center in Boise, ID. Typical projects include several Idaho churches, schools, libraries, numerous facilities at Mountain Home Air Force Base, several sewer and water extensions, and numerous upscale hillside residences in and around the Boise foothills.

Roger's other experience includes 12 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear-trained submarine officer. He served on two submarines and at one shore posting. Highlights were his certifications as a Navy Nuclear Engineer and Strategic Weapons Officer, and also his qualification for submarine command.
